Boubacar Traoré hasn’t had regular minutes at Wolverhampton Wanderers since joining them from FC Metz in 2022.

The midfielder’s playing time has been restricted due to multiple injuries and he spent over 300 days on the sidelines over the past three seasons.

Metz have secured promotion to the top flight and have a strong desire to bring the Wolves player back to the club this summer.

That’s according to L’Equipe, who state the Ligue 1 side are trying to find an agreement with the Premier League club to sign the 23-year-old on loan.

The Mali international was a regular in his final season at Metz and a move back could help him enjoy minutes which he’s missed since joining Wolves. However, the report claims the French club’s negotiations are stalling because of his salary and who will pay how much of it during any loan.

L’Equipe report other unnamed clubs are also monitoring the player’s situation at Molineux, and that could help Wolves in financial negotiations.
