Al Shabab are looking to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Mario Lemina, according to a report this week.

Journalist Ahmed Al Jadi, who works for Saudi Arabia’s MBC, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide a ‘special’ update on the Wolves midfielder.

The Middle East club are looking for a new midfielder and their focus is on the 31-year-old.

In fact, Ahmed Al Jadi claims the Gabon international is the ‘most prominent’ target the Saudi Arabian club are negotiating with. There’s no mention of the fee they are willing to offer Wolves or the progress of any ongoing negotiations.

The journalist doesn’t mention when Al Shabab are looking to sign him but it’s likely to be in the winter market.

Last month, the Premier League side agreed a deal with Al Shabab to bring Vítor Pereira to Molineux. Since the Portuguese arrived at Wolves, he’s left the former Southampton man out of the squad for all three games.

Lemina captained Wolves for most of the season and the armband was stripped after his altercation with West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen last month.

Wolves could sell Lemina in January if Al Shabab were to make a convincing offer.
