Wolverhampton Wanderers are one of the sides ‘looking most firmly’ at Racing Club midfielder Carlos Alcaraz as European clubs line up for his signature.

That’s according to Racing de Alma, who cover the player today and the growing battle for his signature.

Wolves have been linked with Alcaraz throughout this month, with it made clear that they were interested, and a suitable bid could get them their man.

That was followed by a claim that Wolves had asked for information about the youngster, before his agent then confirmed that they had an option to go to England in the coming months.

Racing de Alma follow that up today and say that the reality is Alcaraz could leave Racing in the next transfer window, with most suitors joining the race all the way back in June.

AC Milan already made a €12m enquiry in the summer, which was rejected. Porto also indicated they would pay €15m but never sent an official proposal.

They, though, are one of the clubs ‘looking most firmly’ at Alcaraz, with Wolves named as the other one.

They’re just two of his suitors as PSV Eindhoven have sent scouts to watch him recently while Milan came to see him as well. Inter Milan are also in the mix and could use Facundo Colidio as part payment for the midfielder.

That’s more of an idea than a concrete idea present but the Italian side are in the mix, alongside Wolves, and several others, even though the player himself is eyeing a move somewhere else entirely.

“I would like to play in Spain,” he is quoted as saying.

“The truth is that it’s a very nice league, that I like a lot and with very good teams.

“I would really love to be here, but I know that to get it I have to work very hard. Time will tell if I have the chance to come here.”
