Chelsea have to make a decision about Callum Hudson-Odoi’s loan deal at Bayer Leverkusen before Christmas, as that is when their recall clause for him expires.

That’s according to Kicker, who provide a short report on the forward today and how Leverkusen are eagerly awaiting the Blues’ decision.

Hudson Odoi joined the German side on loan in the summer in search of regular playing time, which wasn’t on offer under Thomas Tuchel at the time.

He’s been a regular for the Bundesliga side since, with 15 appearances in all competitions so far and a goal and an assist to his name.

While those are not numbers to shout home about, there have been suggestions that Chelsea, and particularly manager Graham Potter, could look to bring the forward back in the January transfer window.

Kicker confirm that Chelsea do ‘have the option’ to bring the attacker back in winter and that ‘it will be decided’ whether they want to take it up next month.

This clause ‘expires before Christmas’, so the Blues have a decision to make about the 22-year-old and whether they want him back at Stamford Bridge or to spend the rest of the season on loan in Germany as planned.
