According to a claim in the Turkish media, Besiktas officials are flying to England to complete the transfer of Croatian defender Domagoj Vida.
The player has been linked with a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers in recent days and Sabah today back up the Premier League side’s interest in the player.
According to Sabah, Besiktas president Fikret Orman and two other board members are travelling to England, following claims Wolves have made an offer for Vida. Sabah say the English club have offered €16m, although reports last week suggested this was €18m.
Since impressing in this summer’s World Cup in Russia, Vida has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs in recent weeks, with Wolves being one of the latest.
There are no reports who Orman will be holding talks with when he arrives in the UK, but with Wolves recent bid there’s a good chance a meeting will take place between the two clubs.
Besiktas are keen to sell Vida for the highest bidder in order to raise transfer funds.
