On May 25th, Expressen stated Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeping coach Neil Cutler had made a trip to watch Djurgårdens IF Fotboll’s Jacob Widell Zetterström in action against Mjällby AIF.
It was also said the Premier League side have made initial contact with the goalkeeper’s agent.
FotbollDirekt now relay claims of Wolves’ interest in the 25-year-old and then give their own take on this case.
The Sweden international has impressed for his side this year, keeping six clean sheets and conceding 11 goals from 12 matches.
According to FotbollDirekt, a fee around SEK 35-40m [£2.58-2.95m] would be enough to take him away from Djurgårdens this summer. At this moment in time, they haven’t received an offer close to this figure.
With regards to Wolves, sources have told the outlet that they have never been in contact with the Swedish club for the stopper.
If Gary O’Neil’s side were to make contact, they may find it hard Zetterström in this window because Djurgårdens have no plans to part ways with him.
This is according to their sporting director, Bosse Andersson, who insists that there are currently no negotiations to sell the star.
“We are not negotiating with any club and we are not thinking about selling him this summer,” he told FotbollDirekt.
“It is not our plan to sell him this summer and as I say, there are not even any ongoing talks about Jacob. He is one of our most important names and has been incredibly good during the spring. We are not thinking about anything else than that he plays the year with us.”
