Vítor Pereira has had a big impact since his arrival as Wolverhampton Wanderers manager and the club will be looking to build on his success in the summer window.
In January, Wolves were linked with a move for Real Betis midfielder Johnny Cardoso, although it never felt like things were seriously advancing.
Tottenham have a clause which allows them to buy the US international, having agreed that when sending Giovani Lo Celso back to Betis.
Diario de Sevilla take a look at the player’s situation today part of their repot states ‘Wolverhampton have already offered him triple’ what he currently earns in Seville. Their chances are not ruled out, despite the clause which Tottenham hold.
The local newspaper, which is very well connected to both Betis and Sevilla, states all the big clubs in Italy like Cardoso and that’s a move which his partner would be keen on.
In the Premier League, ‘more and more clubs’ are becoming interested and it’s claimed given the growing interest Cardoso could be sold for more than the €25m Tottenham clause.
The possibility of €30-35m is put forward and in that scenario it’s suggested Tottenham would be due 20% if they didn’t match the higher offer. It’s not made explicitly clear, but it’s likely the 20% would be of what is above €25m rather than the whole amount.
Complicated.
Diario de Sevilla appear to be wanting to get across the message that Tottenham isn’t the nailed on destination for Cardoso and a higher fee could be attained, with Wolves thrown in as an example of those interested.
