Over the past few weeks, various claims from Spain have covered the possibility of Chiquinho returning to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the winter market.
Last summer, Wolves let the winger join RCD Mallorca on a season-long loan deal and he’s clocked in just 140 minutes from seven games for the La Liga side.
On Thursday, Diario de Mallorca also discussed the Spanish club analysing the option of cutting short the 24-year-old’s loan stay.
A fresh report from Marca has largely ruled out Mallorca breaking the Portuguese’s loan deal.
The newspaper states Wolves ‘don’t give in’ and Mallorca have to pay them a penalty of over €1.5m to send Chiquinho back to Molineux midway through the loan. That would be financially impossible for them.
Marca add Mallorca have decided to send one of Javier Llabrés and Daniel Luna out on loan elsewhere, as ‘collateral damage’ for retaining Chiquinho.
He’d already made two appearances for Wolves this season before joining the Spanish club and therefore, Vítor Pereira’s side would have to get special approval to send him to another club if Mallorca were to cut short his stay in January.
Although Marca don’t mention it, Wolves may soften their stance if it’s apparent Mallorca simply won’t use him, as he may even be useful for their own plans.
