Wolverhampton Wanderers’ chase for Osasuna defender David Garcia is back to being mentioned by the Spanish media today.
Outlet AS today features a story about the possibility of him playing in the Premier League next season, since ‘several English clubs’ want him.
It’s ‘especially Wolves’ who are keen on the 29-year-old, with the report recalling that they ‘had already tempted’ him in January.
This time, it’s said Julen Lopetegui’s side are ‘considering paying’ the player’s €20m release clause.
Osasuna have their hands tied, and therefore already look for other options in the market who can potentially cover Garcia’s place in case of this departure.
Even though Athletic Bilbao have also been interested in the Spaniard, they’re unlikely to spend that much on the signing, and shouldn’t compete for him.
For now, AS does not reveal who the other Premier League clubs who could fight Wolves for the transfer are.
Since the price for the transfer sounds relatively low, that could show up to be an attractive deal for several sides, and that should encourage the Molineux side to move quickly.
