Argentine winger Dario Sarmiento is one of the South American youngsters signed by Manchester City this year. The Premier League side reportedly spent €5m to take him away from Estudiantes in a summer move.
Now as the 18-year-old waits for his transfer to be completed, it seems he’s been left alone in La Plata, at least for now.
Outlet El Editor Platense reports that even though Sarmiento could be having preseason with Estudiantes, he’s been left out of their squad, and is training on his own.
The report says he’s been doing activities which are coordinated by Manchester City at the Grade Up training centre in Argentina.
El Editor Platense claims that Sarmiento should fly to England before Manchester City’s preseason starts. Still, it’s unknown if he’ll be joining Pep Guardiola’s side at first or if he’ll be sent to another club from the City Football Group on loan.
Other youngsters who are moving to the Premier League side this summer, such as Kluiverth Aguilar and Metinho, are set to join Lommel and Troyes, respectively.
