Tottenham Hotspur remain a serious option for Feyenoord manager Arne Slot.
That’s according to analyst Filip Joos, who told Sporza’s Extra Time that Spurs and Ajax are the ‘only options’ for the 44-year-old, if he decides to leave the Eredivisie side.
The possibility of the manager moving to Tottenham has also been mentioned by De Telegraaf journalist Valentijn Driessen during his Kick-Off podcast, relayed by Feyenoord Pings.
Slot helped Feyenoord seal the title at the weekend. Orkun Kökçü was one of the key players under the manager this season as the 22-year-old midfielder has 12 goals and five assists from 44 games.
According to Driessen, Slot would want to take the Turkey international to Spurs in the summer, if he were to be appointed as their next manager.
“Kökcü is going with Arne Slot. One and one is two. If a very big club becomes available for Slot, I cannot imagine that he doesn’t want Kökcü. If he can go to Tottenham Hotspur, he will try to take Kökcü with him. Ten Hag did the same with Antony and Martínez,” he said.
Amid claims of interest from Tottenham and others, Slot has insisted Feyenoord won’t be decimated if he were to leave them after this season.
“Should I ever decide to leave at any time, then I know there is life after Arne Slot. The best thing you can do as a manager is to make sure things don’t collapse when you leave,” he told Studio Voetbal, relayed by Voetbal Primeur.
“That has been achieved at AZ. I am convinced Feyenoord are in such good shape that any other manager can be successful here.”
Tottenham parted ways with Antonio Conte in March and are still searching to appoint his permanent successor.
