On August 5th, TRT Spor showed up with a surprise claim that Fenerbahçe have come forward to sign Arsenal’s Jorginho. It was also reported the midfielder had informed the Gunners that he wants to leave this summer.
This report was dismissed by the English press earlier this week and the 31-year-old’s agent has now backed that stance up.
Speaking to TuttoMercatoWeb, Joao Santos has stated a move away from Arsenal has been ruled out for Jorginho.
When specifically asked about the Fenerbahçe links, he said: “He will stay at Arsenal. He is happy to be in England. Let’s move on.”
The Brazil-born Italy international arrived in the Premier League when Chelsea signed him from Napoli in 2018. Santos has insisted his client is “focused” on starting his sixth year in England.
TMW further asked the representative whether he has received any approaches from other clubs for Jorginho.
Responding to that, Santos explained: “Some rumours, for example from Saudi Arabia. Someone called me, but nothing concrete. Jorginho is also appreciated in Spain, he’s an important player. He will stay at Arsenal.”
Mikel Arteta’s side signed Jorginho from Chelsea in January and offered him a deal until 2024, with an option for another year.
