Leeds United’s agreement with Juventus for midfielder Weston McKennie includes bonuses that the Italian club are convinced ‘can easily be met’.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say the player’s agents are working to finalise the situation so the player can fly to England and undergo a medical this weekend.
Leeds’ move for McKennie has ben quickly advancing in the last few hours, with Juventus manager Max Allegri confirming the player was out of their game tomorrow because of those talks.
CM follow that up and that despite a late move from Nottingham Forest, ‘it will be Leeds’ where McKennie will end up next.
A gap between the two sides on their valuation of the American was ‘bridged’ by the latest proposal from Elland Road, with them agreeing to a total sum close to the €35m requested by Juventus.
That is made up between the initial loan fee, redemption and bonuses including certain targets that will make a purchase option become an ‘obligation’.
Those in charge at Juve are convinced that the conditions for that to happen ‘can easily be met’. In other words, they believe Leeds will be obligated to buy McKennie permanently in the summer.
His move is not finalised yet as there are still some details to be ‘ironed out’ between the player and Leeds but his agents are working to resolve them within the next few hours so McKennie can fly to England undergo a medical this weekend.
