The Dutch media now reports the ‘white smoke’ in the negotiations between Arsenal and Ajax for the transfer of Jurrien Timber.
Following the previous claims of advanced talks, De Teelegraf now claim there’s a deal for the 22-year-old’s move to London.
It’s claimed that Arsenal will first be paying Ajax a fee of €42m, and that can reach €47m depending on performance bonuses.
According to De Teelegraf, only medicals ‘stand in the way’ of the official announcement from Arsenal.
Both the examinations and his presentation are expected to take place in the ‘coming days’.
It was in 2014 that Timber left Feyenoord’s academy to join Ajax, having completed his formation at the Amsterdam side.
Despite his young age, he had 121 appearances for the Eredivisie giants, and the past couple of seasons is what drew the interest from Premier League clubs. He also has 15 appearances for the Netherlands, and was a starter at the last World Cup.
