Hamburg SV are working on signing a defender this summer and Tottenham Hotspur’s Luka Vušković and Southampton’s Armel Bella-Kotchap are said to be on their list.

The 18-year-old arrived at Tottenham this summer, two years after Spurs agreed a deal with Hajduk Split.

His brother, Mario, is currently at the German club. Earlier this month, Mario publicly said the Tottenham player would love to play for HSV.

Hamburger Morgenpost reiterate that and cover the latest on the Croatia international and the Southampton player. They suggest Vušković’s prominence at Tottenham has grown and he’s expected to stay in north London.

Despite his brother’s admission, Hamburg were realistic their chances of signing him were ‘already slim’ and weren’t dreaming of Vušković’s arrival.

In need of improving their defence, the report claims they are moving forward with their negotiations to try and sign other targets. Bella-Kotchap is the only other player named, and Hamburger Morgenpost believe it’s complicated to take him away from Southampton.

The 23-year-old German sees HSV as an attractive option, while there are other clubs showing interest in him.
