A couple of days ago, journalist Bruno Andrade reported Corinthians were trying to get Luizão from West Ham United on the basis of a loan deal with an option to buy.
There’s been quite a bit of interest from Brazil in taking the defender back to the country, and Corinthians’ plan was for a season long loan, with a €3m purchase option to get 70% of his rights
West Ham United were said to want €5m for the 70%, with the Hammers also wanting a buyback clause in any deal.
Of course, you can’t just buy 70% of a player, but things work slightly differently in Brazil and it will likely be related to income from a future move, and any cut the player’s camp were due.
According to an update from Bruno Andrade, the Brazilian club haven’t sent any kind of a counter-offer to West Ham, and the Hammers have made it known they will, from today, happily listen to offers from other clubs.
Luizão is also thought to be the subject of interest from unnamed clubs in Belgium and France.
