Gazzetta dello Sport do not hold back on Monday morning, pushing the idea that Divock Origi is likely to move to West Ham United this summer.
The interest from the Hammers has been longstanding, but numerous reports explained the player would much rather stay in Milan to prove himself.
However, things appear to have changed, as Gazzetta state West Ham are ‘in pole position’ for the Belgian forward with what could be an €8-10m, which could allow Gianluca Scamacca to go back to Italy.
That’s a separate matter altogether mind, with this focusing on Origi, who was the 1000th player in the history of Milan, without ever living up to the hype of his free transfer.
At this stage, it is ‘unlikely’ that he will have a second season at San Siro, as he was excluded of the club’s tour to the US, meaning that West Ham ‘can turn the light back on’, as they are ‘the most advanced’ out of all the interested parties.
A transfer would bring in €8-10m, but also save Milan €12m from the €4m/year they would have had to pay him over the next three seasons.
In short, they state the player could ‘soon get on a flight to London’, and would certainly make more room for a potential deal for Gianluca Scamacca, of interest to AS Roma.
