West Ham United want at least €20m if they are to sell Pablo Fornals to Sevilla, as they believe a replacement will cost at least at least €30m.

That’s according to Mucho Deporte, who back up reports that the Spanish side are keen on the midfielder and working to make a deal happen.

A report earlier today indicated that Sevilla were looking to move quickly for the midfielder and their poor start to the season could hasten efforts to get him from the London Stadium.

It also speculated that he may have already reached an agreement with Sevilla on a move.

Mucho Deporte now follow that up and confirm Fornals is a player that Sevilla like and he is ‘highly valued’ by those in charge at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium.

However, the reality is that a transfer is ‘difficult’ to get over the line because West Ham are asking for a ‘high transfer fee’ for him.

The Hammers consider Fornals a very important player in their squad and despite the fact he is in the final year of his deal, are asking for €15-20m to sanction a departure.

That’s where negotiations currently are and any possible flexibility on the matter will depend on whether Fornals presses to leave or not and how much a potential replacement would cost. At the moment they believe that player would be valued at around €30m.

Thus, they will continue to press for as high a price as possible, something which could put him out of Sevilla’s reach.

It now remains to be seen if they up their bid and bet on Fornals or pull away, at which point West Ham might gamble and try to get him to agree to a new contract.

For now, it appears to be the former as it’s explained Sevilla have not made the Spaniard a priority signing and are focusing on other positions, knowing a deal with West Ham ‘is not easy’.
