Leicester City goalkeeper Mads Hermansen is on the radar at West Ham United this summer and could make the move.

That’s according to journalist Gianluca di Marzio, speaking to Tipsbladet, who believes the transfer would be a smart one for the 24-year-old Leicester goalkeeper.

Di Marzio reports that it is currently far from certain that Hermansen will remain with Leicester and play in the Championship next season.

The Danish international has already been linked with a move to West Ham, who will need a new goalkeeper this summer as Lukasz Fabianski is departing. Di Marzio confirms that Hermansen is on their list and thinks the move would make sense for him.

“Mads Hermansen could be on his way to West Ham,” he said.

“The club really likes him, and it could be a good opportunity for him. I don’t believe he will stay at Leicester. And I think West Ham will be the right option for him.”

The question is how much West Ham would be willing to pay for the Leicester goalkeeper. Tipsbladet report that he has a deal with the Foxes until 2028, so they’re under no pressure to sell.

In fact, they could demand ‘a good amount’ to sell the Danish goalkeeper this summer. They paid €7.7m for him in 2023 so would presumably like to recoup that figure.

It’s a situation to keep an eye on as West Ham look to sort out their goalkeeper situation this summer, with Wes Foderingham and Alphonse Areola their current options once Fabianski leaves.
