Milliyet claim West Ham United are set to make an offer to Besiktas to sign Gary Medel in the January transfer window.
Yesterday, we covered reports from Turkey that the Chilean international is a target for Hammers after reports West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini is keen to work with his compatriot.
It’s claimed West Ham are planning to make a £5m offer to sign the player after reports talks will take place in the coming days.
The Turkish newspaper claim Besiktas manager Senol Gunes wants to keep Medel, but the club’s board are open to selling him to West Ham.
Besiktas need to raise money and Milliyet say club president Fikret Orman is likely to sell Medel if West Ham meet their valuation.
According to Milliyet, Medel wants a return to the Premier League and he’s also keen to work under Pellegrini. The Chilean midfielder is hoping he can make the switch once the two clubs have agreed a fee.
Medel is under contract with the Super Lig side until 2020.
