What used to be a fantasy in Felipe Anderson’s head is seemingly becoming reality, as the Brazilian is heading closer and closer to a return to Lazio.

The arrival of Maurizio Sarri and the likely implementation of his 4-3-3 will have a lot to do with that, as the winger wants to leave West Ham, who wouldn’t mind getting him off their books either.

The manager has allegedly ‘approved the return’ of Felipe Anderson, according to Corriere dello Sport, having ‘always appreciated him’, dating back to his time at Napoli.

It’s explained ‘there was contact last Friday’ regarding a transfer and ‘another one is expected this week’.

West Ham are allegedly ‘ready to sell’ their Brazilian, as ‘they will not renew his contract’, which is expiring in 2022.

While they know they will get nowhere near the €31m + €6m in bonuses (of which they’ve only paid €3m) they initially paid Lazio for him, ‘they are willing to sell him for about €8m in order to recover part of that investment’.

That demand certainly is ‘not exorbitant’, but, as usual, the Serie A side ‘will try to have a discount’.

For a year now, it’s said Anderson has ‘been dreaming of returning to Rome’, and will do almost anything, including taking a pay cut, in order to get the move.
