West Ham United remain ‘on the prowl’ for Barcelona forward Martin Braithwaite, with the Catalan side keen to move him on this summer.
That’s according to Sport, who say the Denmark international has been told he is not a part of the club’s plans moving forwards, and Brighton & Hove Albion, Burnley and Norwich City are also said to be keen.
The newspaper explains that Braithwaite could be one of Barcelona’s ‘surprise sales’ this summer, and he already knows that he has to leave the Blaugrana club.
They’ve made it clear through his entourage that he will not have minutes next season, particularly after the arrival of Memphis Depay and Sergio Aguero.
His intention was to stay and fight for his place, but with that off the cards, he will now be on the move, and the European Championships have been a ‘good showcase’ for him.
Barcelona want to recover a good part of the €18m they paid to sign him, and there are several Premier League sides who believe he could be a ‘good opportunity’.
West Ham are among them, with it stated that they, Brighton, Burnley and Norwich are ‘on the prowl’, although Barcelona are also in talks with a Russian side.
It’s felt that could ‘bear fruit’ as the Danish international accepts the move, suggesting that it could happen quickly if negotiations go well.
West Ham will have to move quickly to get their man, then, with Barcelona pushing to get rid to bring in the money they need and the likes of Brighton, Burnley and Norwich all keen as well.
