Donny van de Beek’s first season at Manchester United didn’t go the way the Dutchman will have hoped.

His former Ajax teammates Frenkie De Jong and Matthijs de Ligt had some struggles in their first seasons with Barcelona and Juventus respectively, yet Van de Beek’s situation was worse.

The midfielder managed just over 500 minutes across 19 Premier League appearances, and picked up a further 17 matches in other competitions. The 24-year-old failed to put up a big case for featuring more and there’s inevitably been claims of a potential summer exit.

Inter Milan has been one of the clubs linked, but FCInterNews now report such a move in unlikely in the current window. That’s because the player’s entourage is said to be looking for a move in the Premier League, or potentially even La Liga, rather than switching to Serie A.

AS Roma and AC Milan are credited with interest, however, they’d need to wait and see if Van de Beek changes his mind as the window grows older.

Manchester United ‘await interesting offers’, according to the claims from Italy.
