West Ham goalkeeper Adrian is such a likeable guy that when speaking to Radio Sevilla this week he was always going to be walked into saying things about a Jonathan Calleri transfer.
Adrian is from Seville and played for Real Betis’ C and B teams, before representing the club’s first team, and then making the move to West Ham United. The 29 year old’s form for West Ham last season was so good that in August he received a call up to Spain’s national squad, but like with everything else at the club, things haven’t been as good this season.
The conversation was switched to Calleri potentially swapping West Ham for Sevilla in the winter window, and Adrian said his Hammers teammate is “A good striker… always has the goal in his mind.”
The Argentine’s lack of success with West Ham this season has been down to poor fortune, according to Adrian. Estadio Deportivo, who carry the radio quotes, say it was Adrian recommending the player for Sevilla.
West Ham fans aren’t too fond of Calleri, he hasn’t been able to give them reason to like him so far. However, the 23 year old Argentine has proven at huge clubs, Boca Juniors and Sao Paulo, that he has talent. Signed as West Ham were fumbling around for a striker, any striker, the transfer hasn’t worked out so far for anyone involved.
