Even before Brazil manager Tite revealed the starting line-up facing Serbia tonight, the local media had been doing their best to find it out.

The biggest doubt was regarding the midfield, and it was correctly predicted West Ham star Lucas Paquetá would have a chance to feature there.

Paquetá will have a crucial job in the middle to feed the attack.

So as ESPN Brasil pundit Fabio Luciano comments on Brazil’s lineup, he talks about the heavy duty the West Ham player has ahead of him, as he’s expected to have a crucial job both attacking as in defending.

“With regard to this lineup, Paquetá has the most responsibility, as we know that he works very well with Neymar, Neymar likes his approaches. I think he will have responsibilities, when Brazil gave the ball and Paquetá understands that he has the security of two defenders, the protection of the full-backs and Casemiro, this will give him a little more freedom to approach Neymar,” said Fabio Luciano (via Torcedores).

“Now, he needs to be the first man in the recomposition. So, he needs to understand that he will arrive in the box, he will find Neymar, but he also has the responsibility of sharing the defence with Casemiro. I think this line-up is very cool if all players commit to defending. With the ball at their feet, all concern is with Serbia.”

Lucas Paquetá starts in midfield alongside Casemiro. Even though Manchester United’s Fred was many times used in that position and may even have more chemistry with his Old Trafford teammate, the West Ham player has been getting Tite’s preference lately, especially because of what he can offer in attack.
