West Ham United are now interested in Brazilian defender Vitão, according to local reports.
The story comes from outlet Revista Colorada. They claim that after failing to sign Fabricio Bruno from Flamengo, the Hammers set the Internacional centre-back as a target.
West Ham are said to be offering €8m for the signing, but that may not be enough to complete the transfer.
That’s because Villarreal have placed a bid worth €8m plus €1m in bonuses. And with those bids at this stage of the year, Internacional now set the player’s price at €12m.
Revista Colorada is an Internacional-dedicated outlet, so perhaps bigger outlets in Brazil will turn up soon to add more.
Vitão still belongs to Shakhtar Donetsk, but was loaned to Inter back in 2022 and is joining the club on a permanent deal in July this year.
He’s 24-year-of-age, while Fabricio Bruno is 28. With Inter knowing that West Ham were ready to spend €15m on the Flamengo player, it would be no surprise if they try to push for that amount.
