Not only Manchester United and Arsenal were present at the Capital do Móvel this Saturday. According to A Bola, West Ham sent an official too. They watched Sporting’s away game against Paços de Ferreira, which the Lions won 1-0.
The newspaper mentions that there are a few Sporting players who have been receiving attention from the Premier League market, which are Islam Slimani, Adrien Silva and William Carvalho.
Both Slimani and William Carvalho had a bad game, making more mistakes than usual. However, the club captain Adrien Silva was the Man of Match after scoring the winner.
West Ham haven’t been much linked to players from Portugal lately. The only recent one was Vincent Aboubakar from Porto, who ended up signing for Besiktas on a loan deal.
Adrien Silva was reportedly wanted by the Hammers back in 2012, and as he’s now being reportedly followed by Everton, Sporting wouldn’t accept much less than his €45m release clause.
Islam Slimani was also linked to the Hammers a few months ago, but the same thing happened as with all the other Premier League clubs allegedly interested – nothing, so it isn’t not something to take very seriously. In any case, he’s not leaving for less than €30m. The same goes for Carvalho.
