West Ham have offered the ‘real market value’ for Jean-Clair Todibo and Juventus are being ridiculous with their efforts, at least according to Thursday’s edition of Nice-Matin.
West Ham and Juve have been tussling to sign the defender for weeks, with Todibo himself thought to much prefer the option of a move to Turin.
That’s unfortunate for his current club Nice, given the Hammers are offering by far the better deal.
Nice-Matin report West Ham’s offer is a loan with a mandatory purchase clause of €36m, so essentially a permanent €36m transfer. Juventus, meanwhile, made their first serious move on Wednesday and offered a loan with a purchase option.
Their try-before-you-buy bid was also at a figure far less than proposed by the Premier League club, although the exact amount wasn’t known by Nice-Matin.
The French newspaper insists Nice will not give in to an offer like that and expect any interested club to offer ‘real market value’, like West Ham have.
Meanwhile, Thursday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport gives the Italian take. They report the Juventus offer is a loan with a €30m purchase option, but that amount includes bonuses.
They explain Nice aren’t happy with that and expect the same €36m West Ham offered.
As was mentioned on Wednesday, Gazzetta state ‘West Ham have made a comeback in the last few hours’.
Todibo wants Juve, however, they don’t seem to be willing to go the distance needed just yet.
