Marca had an article in their Thursday edition titled ‘Obsession with Chicharito’ and detailed how much Valencia want to sign the West Ham striker.
They’ve reportedly had an agreement with Javier Hernandez for some time, and the Mexican has agreed to take a pay cut to make the move happen.
There were two problems standing in the way of a deal.
West Ham have been insistent that if the player leaves then it must be on a permanent transfer, whereas Valencia have insisted they’d only consider a loan.
Marca also stated the Hammers would probably like to get someone in before letting Hernandez go.
On Friday, the Spanish newspaper explain that Valencia have now made the first compromise, and put in an offer for a permanent switch.
Marca accept it’s not enough and say the Premier League club want €12-14m.
AS Monaco are also presented as keen and they’re prepared to pay €12m, although the player wants Valencia.
There’s going to be more compromise needed.
