West Ham United remain locked in negotiations with Corinthians over defender Luizão despite reports of them accepting an offer.
That’s according to journalist Bruno Andrade, who provides details of the ongoing negotiations between the two clubs.
A report earlier today indicated that West Ham had accepted an offer from the Brazilian side for the defender, who is keen to move on from the London Stadium.
He joined the Hammers last summer but is yet to make a first-team appearance for the club. That’s unlikely to improve give West Ham’s big spend on defensive reinforcements this summer.
Corinthians have made a bid for him and it was reported this has been accepted but Andrade reports negotiations are ongoing over the final details.
According to him the Brazilian side are trying to secure a season-long loan deal with an option to buy 70% of the player’s rights for €3m. West Ham United, though, want €5m for the same 70% and to have a right to buy the player back.
There are more interested clubs in Brazil but the 22-year-old has made it clear he would prefer to go to Corinthians above other options.
That depends on a deal being done with West Ham, who it seems are holding for a little more than is currently being offered.
