Just before the January transfer window started, we began to see a few stories sending Ardon Jashari to West Ham United,
It was stated the young defensive midfielder was having some talks about potentially joining the Hammers, but it was made very clear that no transfer would be taking place in January.
That was indeed the case, and now we see Calciomercato.it in Italy suggesting that West Ham are facing a lot of competition if they are wanting to sign the Swiss starlet.
It’s revealed that Bologna are now the club in ‘pole position’ to sign the 21-year-old, with it claimed their technical director Giovanni Sartori has ‘found a contractual agreement’ with the player.
The issue now is doing the same with Luzern, who know that they have a lot of interest in their midfielder and could use that to their advantage in making the price rise.
There are other Italian clubs, such as Lazio and Napoli, also lurking, while Benfica are mentioned as having been close to signing Jashari last summer.
West Ham aren’t mentioned in this particular story, but considering how advanced they seemed in their attempts to get him before January, they might need to double down some more in order to dismiss the likes of Bologna and co.
