Despite the optimism being shown in the Italian media about Denis Zakaria’s potential move to West Ham United this summer, the two clubs appear to have reached a sticking point.
This is according to Corriere dello Sport, who cover the Switzerland international and what could happen to him in the coming weeks on Tuesday.
The midfielder is one of the players Juventus are trying to offload this summer, with a previous report claiming he had 0% chance of staying in Turin beyond the current transfer window.
West Ham appear to have targeted him to help soften the exit of Declan Rice, but no agreement has been reached just yet.
Corriere explain that the Hammers ‘must make the last effort’ in terms of their bid to reach the €19-20m requested by Juventus, and ‘not remain at €15-16m’.
Therefore, West Ham will have to dig a little deeper in their pockets if they want the Swiss in David Moyes’s squad next season, which, once the deal for Declan Rice goes through, shouldn’t be the most difficult thing to do, especially if it’s for a mere €4m.
