Crystal Palace, Fulham, Leicester City and Southampton could be options for Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Röhl next season, according to a report from Germany.
Sky Deutschland journalist Philipp Hinze took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report on Crystal Palace, Fulham, Leicester and Southampton interest in the Sheffield Wednesday boss.
Leicester and Southampton are said to be pondering new managers after their relegation to the Championship. They are looking at Röhl to help them return to the Premier League next year.
Oliver Glasner and Marco Silva are in charge at Crystal Palace and Fulham respectively and have been linked to other clubs. This has seen the two London clubs show interest in the Sheffield Wednesday manager.
The 36-year-old joined the Owls in October 2023 and has a contract until 2027. According to the journalist, the German is ‘about to leave’ Sheffield Wednesday. He adds Röhl has a ‘single-digit million range’ [€1-9m] release clause in his contract.
Interested parties can snatch him from Sheffield Wednesday by activating the clause, and it feels like the whole point of this claim is to get that message out there.
Hinze claims the German manager is also attracting interest from the Bundesliga but ‘England is hotter’ at the moment. In other words, Röhl is likely to continue in England where Crystal Palace, Fulham, Leicester and Southampton are presented as suitors.
