Just over a week ago, CalcioNapoli24 reported as an exclusive that West Ham were very interested in Italian striker Roberto Inglese.
Signed by Napoli during last summer, the forward remained at Chievo on loan for the 2017-18 campaign, during which he scored 10 goals in 34 league appearances.
At the time, the Hammers were said to be ready to make a €20m offer of €18m up front + €2m in bonuses, but that’s the last we heard of that, until now.
According to Il Mattino on Tuesday, West Ham remain interested in the 26-year-old, among other clubs, but it doesn’t seem like Napoli are wanting to sell.
The Italian newspaper explain the most likely scenario for the striker would be another loan.
Considering how poorly the last goalscorer the Premier League side signed on loan from Serie A played, it might not be an experiment they’ll want to repeat.
Either way, it’s not much of an update, but it’s a second source reporting the interest, and we’ll definitely stick it in our ‘we’ll keep an eye out for any updates’ section.
