West Ham United are showing an interest in goalkeeper Martin Olsen after his impressive performances at the Euros this summer.

That’s according to AS in Spain, who name the Hammers as competition to Atlético Madrid for the Swedish goalkeeper’s signature.

Olsen spent last season on loan with Everton playing backup to Jordan Pickford and impressed at Goodison Park when given a chance.

He’s unlikely to return to Merseyside, though, and is similarly unwanted at parent club Roma, who are keen to secure a sale.

The player is likewise ‘going to look for a way out’ with help from his club, and his displays in the Euros have ‘revalued him’ so he will not be ‘short of suitors.’

Atlético Madrid are keen as they are searching for a backup to Jan Oblak and Olsen fits the profile of what they are looking for.

The Spanish side face competition from elsewhere, though, with West Ham, Lille, and Real Sociedad also having ‘asked for him’.

West Ham’s interest is nothing new, as it was reported at the beginning of this month that they have asked for information’ about the goalkeeper.

Whether they want him to replace Lukasz Fabianski or play the number two role isn’t yet known, but it seems if they do make a move, they will face competition for him.
