There’s so many rumours flying around these days that it’s hard to keep up and we’ll inevitably miss one.
This is what happened last week when TuttoMercatoWeb published an exclusive regarding Fiorentina’s interest in Ilya Kutepov, currently contracted to Spartak Moscow.
Towards the end of their brief article, it was mentioned that a number of other sides, including West Ham, were keeping an eye on the 24-year-old’s situation.
As well as the Hammers and Fiorentina, Lyon and RB Leipzig were on the list, meaning Manuel Pellegrini could face a difficult time convincing the defender to move to London Stadium should he make the interest more concrete.
Fast forward to Wednesday, and Corriere dello Sport also mention West Ham in an paragraph about Kutepov, but this time it’s as competition for Sassuolo, not Fiorentina, and Borussia Dortmund have also been added to the list.
This, to us, seems like two different sources, rather than just the Italian newspaper picking up where TuttoMercatoWeb left off.
Had it been about Fiorentina’s interest in the Russian, then that might have been different.
We’re intrigued.
