West Ham United are today again being mentioned in the race for Mateo Retegui.
The story comes from Italian newspaper Tuttosport, who report that following the 23-year-old’s couple of appearances with the Azzurri, there are now several Serie A sides interested in him.
AC Milan, Inter Milan, Lazio, Atalanta and Udinese are just some of those who are watching him, but the competition from West Ham isn’t forgotten.
It’s said that Premier League clubs such as the Hammers have a ‘shower of pounds’ to get a deal done, and the London side have already asked for information on the player.
But the competition doesn’t stop there, because the likes of Atletico Madrid and Brighton & Hove Albion are said to be interested as well.
Retegui has six goals in nine appearances for Tigres this season, and his form in Argentine football convinced the Italian national team to go after him.
Also on Wednesday, we covered Gazzetta Dello Sport talking about West Ham’s interest in the player, adding that it should take between €15m and €20m to take the striker from the South American club.
