Brentford are closing in on signing West Ham United‘s El Hadji Malick Diouf, after making a strong push.
The Senegal international arrived at West Ham from Slavia Prague for a reported €22m in July 2025.
Last season, the left-back managed five assists from 36 matches, and West Ham dropped to the Championship. This has seen Brentford come forward to sign him this summer.
Brentford return with new bid for West Ham man
Last week, Sport Witness covered claims from Senegal that Sunderland joined the Bees in the race for the 21-year-old.
Keith Andrews’ side have been ahead even after West Ham rejected their initial bid.
There was no mention of the details of the Premier League side’s offer while the Hammers demanded €46.8-52.7m for El Hadji Malick Diouf.
Wiw Sport state Brentford should secure the fullback’s services after returning with a new offer.
Details of Brentford’s offer, profit for West Ham
The Bees have submitted a formal offer of up to €47m and that includes €41m as a fixed fee.
This allowed Brentford to make progress in negotiations with Nuno Espírito Santo’s side. In fact, agreement between the two clubs is ‘imminent’.
El Hadji Malick Diouf came off the bench in the League Cup win over Portsmouth, and the 2-2 draw against Burnley.
Despite this, he will leave the Championship side and is open to joining Brentford in this window. The latter are keen and are now close to reaching an agreement with West Ham United.
Wiw Sport states: ‘At this stage, the agreement is imminent. The announcement of the transfer is now expected shortly, subject to the finalisation of the last details of the operation.’
All parties want the transfer to go through and unless there’s a late twist, Diouf will return to the Premier League.
The sale to Brentford will see the Hammers make a massive profit, after investing €22m on him a year ago.
