On Wednesday, Denmark’s BT reported West Ham United have made a huge bid to sign FC Nordsjælland’s Ibrahim Osman in the winter market.
Tipsbladet claims Mohammed Kudus’ fine displays for the Hammers have been a ‘catalyst’ for West Ham director Tim Steidten and his transfer team to ‘thrown everything into trying to buy Osman’.
The Premier League side signed Kudus from Ajax last summer, three years after he joined them from Nordsjælland.
It’s claimed West Ham offered €16m plus bonuses and were hoping this would be enough to convince the Danish club. However, that isn’t the case and there are other English sides who have joined the race to sign the 19-year-old winger.
Therefore, Nordsjælland are demanding 150m kroner [€20m] plus bonuses. In addition to this, they also want a percentage of any profit from the Ghanian’s future sale.
In January 2023, Osman joined the Danish club from Ghanaian side Right to Dream Academy. Nordsjælland had no plans to sell him, but if West Ham or any other club were to meet their demand, they could cash in from his sale this month.
With Steidten keen to sign the attacker, it needs to be seen whether West Ham will make an improved offer.
