West Ham United will battle it out with Aston Villa to sign Atlético Madrid’s Mario Hermoso, according to Tutto Juve.
The centre-back’s deal lasts until the end of this season and three days ago, Gazzetta dello Sport stated there’s a small chance for him to sign an extension. It was also said Inter Milan are interested and have to be wary of competition from West Ham.
On Tuesday, Calciomercato stated Juventus, who are also keen, need to step up in order to stop the 28-year-old from making a switch to Aston Villa.
Tutto Juve mention the two Serie A sides when explaining the latest on West Ham and Aston Villa interest in the Spaniard.
David Moyes’ side see the player as an interesting option and are in the running for his signature. The London club are ‘determined to convince’ him and are willing to offer a deal in excess of €5m per year.
Aston Villa are also in the transfer race and will provide ‘intense competition’ to West Ham to sign Hermoso on a free transfer.
The Premier League duo are keen on bolstering their defence in the summer, and could beat Juve and Inter to Hermoso’s signature.
