Earlier this week, reports from Brazil claimed West Ham United are still far from an agreement with Athletico Paranaense for the transfer of Vitor Roque.
One report said the Hammers’ offer was €20m, including bonuses, and the other said it’s actually €14m. Both are nowhere near the Furacão’s €40m request.
Now as Catalan outlet Mundo Deportivo today writes about Vitor Roque, they highlight Barcelona’s interest and explain the advantage the Camp Nou side have.
They first claim that despite the interest from West Ham and other European clubs, the player actually has the wish for a move to the La Liga giants.
Barcelona also seem better placed in the talks with Athletico. It’s said the player’s entourage already have some kind of agreement with the Brazilian club so Barça can pay for the transfer in three instalments of €10m, plus bonuses of between €5m and €10m.
That’s a lot more than West Ham have been offering, besides the player’s wish to move to Camp Nou. But with the Catalan side still to put that amount on the table, perhaps the Hammers would still have a shot if raising their recent bids.
