On January 7th, UOL reported West Ham United have made a loan offer for Arthur Cabral, but that offer didn’t please Benfica.

A day later, multiple claims from Portugal stated the Eagles are willing to sanction a move if the Hammers include a mandatory purchase obligation as part of the loan deal.

Last week, Record said West Ham had offered a loan deal with a conditional obligation but the conditions were hard to achieve. Therefore, the Portuguese club knocked it back.

Saturday’s edition of Record again points out Bruno Lage’s side rejecting West Ham’s last offer for the 26-year-old.

Atlanta United have joined the battle for the Brazilian and have made an offer of €16m plus €2m bonuses. The newspaper states this proposal has convinced the Benfica officials, but the deal is unlikely to go through because Cabral isn’t keen on a move to MLS.

This could please the frontman’s other suitors, including Graham Potter’s side. They can almost certainly secure the deal for Cabral by offering €16m to Benfica.

Cabral has clocked in 655 minutes from 23 games this season, managing six goals and an assist in the process. He isn’t the only target as West Ham are also looking at other strikers in this window.
