West Ham United are in the picture to sign AS Roma’s Nicolò Zaniolo in the winter market, according to multiple claims from Italy.
The Italy international has a contract until 2024 and talks have not progressed with the Serie A side for the renewal. This has convinced them to open the door for his sale.
That’s according to Gianluca Di Marzio, who states ‘there is also West Ham’ interested in signing the forward this month. It’s further claimed his agent is already at work to find suitable offers that can materialise in the coming days.
For an outright sale, José Mourinho’s side are aiming to collect €40m and are not willing to go below €35m.
A fee of €25m excluding bonuses would see the Giallorossi think about his sale. The fee mentioned here is less than the price quoted by Gianluca Di Marzio, but both reports claim West Ham are interested and Roma are open to cashing in.
Sportitalia insist that it’s appropriate to ‘pay attention to the interest’ of David Moyes’ side in the chase for Zaniolo’s signature.
Sportitalia’s report was covered by Alfredo Pedullà, who provided additional information on his own website. He claims Thursday could be an important day for the agent to make possible contacts with West Ham and other clubs showing interest in Zaniolo.
