West Ham United seem to be moving forward for the signing of São Paulo defender Luizão.
According to IG, the Hammers want to guarantee his arrival ‘as soon as possible’, and already have an agreement with him.
Only a small amount of details, such as the sending of the contract, are left for the move to be official.
Luizão is becoming a free agent at the end of January, when his contract with São Paulo expires, and even though the player and his staff would like the Brazilian side to have some kind of financial compensation for his departure, the talks between the clubs did not develop.
Still, IG claims that West Ham are willing to speak to São Paulo to speak about the percentage of a future transfer, which could maybe bring forward the player’s arrival in London.
The report claims that Porto, Benfica, Fulham and clubs in Spain have all made approaches for Luizão in the past few months.
The Craven Cottage side were the only who continued having talks for the player, but it was West Ham who ended up ‘winning’ the race.
