Over the past few weeks, there has been a lot of talk about Leeds United being interested in Valencia’s Jesus Vazquez.

The young defender has found minutes hard to come by under Gennaro Gattuso, who has preferred the likes of José Gayà ahead of him at left-back.

This has led the player to try and look elsewhere to find the game time he wants to develop, which is where Leeds are said to have come in.

Victor Orta is likely to have something to do with this, but the Spanish director of football will also face competition from the likes of Inter.

The Serie A side have also been named as an interested party multiple times, and if Plaza Deportiva are to be believed, they have made the first move.

The Spanish website explain Piero Ausilio has already reached out to Valencia to make their interest publicly known and understand what would be needed to get a deal done.

Not only that, but he’s also ‘been in contact with the player’s entourage’, although one thing stands in Inter’s way for the time being, and that’s Robin Gosens.

The German seems to be on his way out, and if he does leave in January, then Vazquez would come in the replace him, potentially on loan with an option to buy.

As has been reported previously, the club’s agency, Leaderbrock Sports, have been travelling around Europe to see if there are any takers for their clients ahead of the January window, and that comprised of a trip to England.

For now, the Leeds target ‘is waiting for Valencia to tell him what they plan to do with him to make a decision’, meaning the Elland Road side still have time to make their own move if they really want to add him to Jesse Marsch’s squad.
