West Bromwich Albion are one of the clubs ‘particularly interested’ in signing FC Sion’s Gora Diouf, according to Africa Foot.
The centre-back joined FC Sion from Senegalese side Étoile Lusitana in 2022 and signed a contract until 2025.
His contract situation has caught the attention of clubs from Turkey and England, where only West Brom are mentioned.
The Swiss club will find it difficult to hold on to the 23-year-old beyond this season as the report states he doesn’t seem to be in favour of signing an extension. This should let West Brom or any other club secure his services on a free transfer.
Africa Foot state the Championship club have contacted the defender’s entourage. They will face tough competition from the Süper Lig as Trabzonspor and Samsunspor are both keen on Diouf.
According to the report, the two Turkish clubs have made concrete offers, although there’s no details of their proposals. The Baggies have to make an offer quickly if they wish to sign the player.
It’s stated the Senegalese defender will be involved in intense discussions before deciding his next destination.
Diouf has played 24 games for FC Sion this season.
