As Juventus engage in a strong chase for a new midfielder in the winter market, Tottenham’s Pierre Emile Højbjerg is always named as one of the strongest names in the list.
The Old Lady has also been linked to Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips, but as newspaper Corriere Della Sera today writes about that mission, it seems the Spurs player is still the number one.
Their story starts by claiming that Juventus manager Maximiliano Allegri is ‘not convinced’ by Phillips, as he’s aiming a player with ‘different characteristics’.
Reports from Italy have been claiming that Spurs are now more open to letting their midfielder leave, with Calciomercato saying that Spurs have set their price at €25m, while Juventus’ preference would be for a loan deal.
The Old Lady may just have to watch out for competition for this signing, because journalist Gianluca Di Marzio this week wrote that other Serie A sides, including Napoli, as well as Premier League clubs, are also keen on the player.
