Manolo Gabbiadini has reportedly been on his way back to Italy since not long after arriving at Southampton.
The striker left Napoli to be the star of a club elsewhere and whilst there were good early signs, it’s not worked out for the Italian.
Drifting in and out of Southampton’s team has seen the player linked with a string of Serie A sides, in the approach to and during every window since he left the country.
It’s probably no exaggeration to say he’s been linked with half the country’s top division.
This window it’s felt more serious and that a move could finally happen.
Now, adding to that, Calciomercato report an agreement has been reached for the player to join Sampdoria. Gabbiadini has played for the club before and according to the claims he’ll be returning there on loan.
As part of that there’ll be a compulsory purchase option of €12m, meaning Samp have to pay that money to the Saints in the summer and make the move permanent.
