In July 2022, we covered claims from South America about Wolverhampton Wanderers’ interest in Universidad de Chile’s Darío Osorio.
A month later, En Cancha reported Wolves were serious about the midfielder and had sent an intermediary to negotiate directly with the Chilean club.
The Premier League side weren’t successful in signing the 19-year-old, who is still at Universidad de Chile.
He managed seven goals from 27 matches last year.
Fast forward to January and today’s Las Últimas Noticias states the Chile international has aroused interest from England.
Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are in the picture for Osario. The newspaper also mentions Wolves looking at the attacker last year.
LUN interviewed the teenager’s mother, Alicia Osorio. Following the latest claims of the two Premier League sides looking at the player, Alicia was asked whether her son would move to Europe. When responding to this, she talked about Wolves’ offer from last summer.
“Last year, when he got the real proposal [from Wolves], we thought we’d go with him. Eyes closed, I catch my partner and we leave. It was already terrible that he was alone in Santiago, so not in another country and not so far away,” Alicia said.
“We would go with him until he gets used to it. But for now, Dario just wants to play.”
