Earlier this week, reports from Brazil said Flamengo were in advanced talks to sign Matheus Martins.
It was claimed that the 20-year-old forward, who belongs to Udinese and has been on loan at Watford, would be close to a return to his home country.
Well, as Premier League Brasil now shares their own story on the situation, they completely dismiss those claims.
First of all, they point out that Martins should stay at Watford for now. Even though the loan from Udinese is about to expire, it’s said the Pozzo family are extending his spell in England.
It’s also claimed that Martins is drawing interest from Premier League and Bundesliga clubs. That’s actually great for him, as he has the ‘objective’ of playing in the English top tier and has no wish to leave Europe soon.
That report basically dismisses any chances that Flamengo had to sign him, and also shows that the player could be about to fulfil his dream. Now we’re curious to see which Premier League clubs are keen on taking him away from Watford.
